U SIX and U SEVEN Are Ready for Move-In

Right on schedule, the latest purpose-built student housing buildings at University District Kelowna are ready for owner and tenant occupancy. U SIX and U SEVEN have been under constructions for the better part of two years. Developer Mission Group has since also began construction on neighbouring U EIGHT. These last three buildings are just down the hill from the other “U buildings” meaning that for students the walk is a little bit longer - several hundred meters further than the original U ONE and U TWO buildings - but still within walking distance to campus. Most of the building occupants are indeed anticipated to be UBCO students with sales going mostly to investors seeking to take advantage of the strong student rental market in Kelowna or to parents who see the value in building equity in a building rather than paying rent to someone else.

Owners will be receiving keys from the developer in the coming days and starting to move in furniture. Students will be moving in at the end of the month just in time for the 2019-2020 academic year to get started.

John Hindle Drive Opens

John Hindle Drive is open for motorist and cyclists, connecting North Glenmore neighbourhood to University District Kelowna and the Kelowna International Airport just up Highway 97. The new road is expected to ease congestion and provide university students living near campus a quicker trip to downtown.
